Wayne Hospital is a Magnet®-designated facility that provides exceptional nursing and advanced medical, surgical, emergency, and critical care services for patients throughout the greater Wayne area. Serving the region since 1957, this 99-bed, full-service acute care center is the only one in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III trauma center and certified by The Joint Commission. The hospital has a long-standing partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a variety of health and communicable disease concerns. This community-focused hospital has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a high-preforming facility in congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, kidney failure and maternal services.

Scope of Work

The Clinical Nurse Manager is an experienced leader responsible for managing assigned areas and services and supervising assigned patient care staff to promote the creation of a center of excellence for staff recruitment and retention and clinical and business outcomes. The Nurse Manager is responsible to ensure safe and effective delivery of patient care and clinical outcomes, compliance with regulatory, administrative and clinical standards, and policies and procedures. The Nurse Manager serves as a chief retention and safety officer. He/she ensures that safety and quality standards are upheld by effective use of data and technology to make decisions and proactively mitigates unnecessary risks for his/her area of responsibility. The Nurse Manager creates and ensures a desirable, safe work environment that enables the organization to meet or exceed its mission and goals. He/she models the way to foster communication and collaboration with physicians, staff, patients and other departments. Role specific competencies, responsibilities, roles and functions are based on the Professional Practice Model. This position reports to the Director of Nursing or above.

Qualifications
  • Qualifications Required Bachelor's Degree in nursing.
  • Preferred Master's Degree 3 years of relevant experience Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Required 1 year of relevant experience Minimum of one year of formal nursing leadership experience required for external applicants.
  • Required 2 years of relevant experience Minimum of 2 years demonstrated informal leadership experience required for internal applicants, may include but are not limited to: Charge Lead Nurse, Charge Nurse responsibilities, leadership on behalf of unit/site/system at Shared Governance Council, etc.
  • Required LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan
  • Upon Hire required CRT-Specialty Certification - UNKNOWN Unknown 2 Yrs required
