Corewell Health Wayne Hospital is seeking a clinical nurse for the Progressive Care Unit to provide patient-centered nursing care on 7p–7a shifts. The role emphasizes high-quality, evidence-based care in a Magnet-designated facility serving the Wayne region.

Candidates should hold an ADN with BSN within five years, MI RN license, and BLS/ACLS certifications. ICU experience is preferred; specialty certification is encouraged within two years.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing required.
• BSN required within 5 years of hire.
• MD/MI RN license to practice in Michigan.
• BLS required within 90 days; ACLS within 6 months.
• Specialty certification is highly recommended within 2 years.
• ICU experience preferred (1 year).

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using patient-family centered care principles.
• Deliver care under Nurse Leader direction per Corewell Health policies.
• Work in Progressive Care Unit 4th Floor, Wayne Hospital.

Wayne Hospital is a Magnet®-designated facility that provides exceptional nursing and advanced medical, surgical, emergency, and critical care services for patients throughout the greater Wayne area. Serving the region since 1957, this 99-bed, full-service acute care center is the only one in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III trauma center and certified by The Joint Commission. The hospital has a long-standing partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a variety of health and communicable disease concerns. This community-focused hospital has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a high-preforming facility in congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, kidney failure and maternal services.

Scope of Work The clinical nurse, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The Clinical Nurse provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing Required
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months
• Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
• 1 year of experience as an RN in the ICU Preferred
