Corewell Health's Wayne Hospital is seeking an experienced RN to join the Intensive Care Unit on a part-time night shift. The role emphasizes patient-family centered care, adherence to nursing process, and collaboration with the Nurse Leader to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate or Diploma in Nursing with Michigan RN licensure, BLS certification, and at least 2 years of clinical experience; internal candidates require nursing orientation and manager recommendation.

Qualifications

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing Required.
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years for GN or RN with less than 1 year of experience.
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years in a licensed health care role and pass NCLEX.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required upon hire.
• 2 years of clinical experience preferred; external candidates require 15 months of clinical experience and competency assessment.
• Internal candidates with less than 2 years must submit a letter of recommendation from their current Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge using the nursing process.
• Provide quality patient care under the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies.
• Partner with patients and families, plan care with goals, and document education in the health record.

ICU takes all high acuity patients from medical, surgical, and cardiac. We provide specialized care to our patients providing CRRT and Hypothermia with a nursing ratio of 1:1-1:2 based of acuity. ICU takes pride in the teamwork and dedication to our patients and families, providing holistic family centered care.

About Wayne Hospital

Wayne Hospital is a Magnet®-designated facility that provides exceptional nursing and advanced medical, surgical, emergency, and critical care services for patients throughout the greater Wayne area. Serving the region since 1957, this 99-bed, full-service acute care center is the only one in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III trauma center and certified by The Joint Commission. The hospital has a long-standing partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a variety of health and communicable disease concerns. This community-focused hospital has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a high-preforming facility in congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and kidney failure. Scope of work

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing Required.
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years for GN or RN with less than 1 year of experience.
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required upon hire.
• 2 years of clinical experience preferred External candidates are required to have a minimum of 15 months of clinical experience (1 year clinical experience + completion of nursing orientation) required. External candidates must successfully complete a competency assessment provided by nursing education required.
• Internal candidates with less than 2 years of clinical experience must submit a letter of recommendation from their current Nurse Manager.
