The incumbent will verify that all surgical charges are captured and that pre-certification is completed where required, working with multiple departments to resolve issues and reduce denials. Experience in billing or coding within a clinical setting is preferred, along with the ability to identify chargeable supplies and implants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in billing and/or coding in a clinical setting.
• Knowledge of charge data entry/integrity processes and guidelines to determine chargeability.

Responsibilities

• Audit accuracy and completeness of patient charges.
• Ensure pre-certification for all surgical patients and collaborate with other departments.
• Investigate surgical case denials and support process improvements.
