Qualifications

• Strong skills in legal document preparation for bankruptcy matters, including petitions, schedules, and related forms.
• Knowledge of bankruptcy law with a focus on Chapter 13
• Proficiency using Best Case or comparable bankruptcy case management software.
• Experience interacting with courts, trustees, and other legal offices, including filing and tracking court documents.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff in an on-site office environment.
• Prior experience as a bankruptcy or litigation paralegal, or relevant legal support role; paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred.
• Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PDF tools) and basic data entry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review petitions, schedules, and related bankruptcy documents.
• Maintain case files and track deadlines through discharge.
• Communicate with clients, courts, and trustees to obtain information.
• Update case status in Best Case or similar software.
• Coordinate hearing calendars and assist with plan modifications.
• Follow up on missing information to keep cases moving efficiently.
