Job summary

Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is seeking a front office administrator to support CHAP operations in Bethel, Alaska. The role covers customer service, phones, travel planning, and data entry, with supervision responsibilities for the Department Secretary.

Responsibilities

  • Handle front office tasks including customer service, phones, issue resolution and communication with villages and CHAP departments.
  • Manage daily travel arrangements, maintain travel logs, and process per diems and deposits.
  • Perform data collection and entry, manage clinic patient backlog, invoice processing, and purchasing requests.
  • Assist with meeting minutes, set up VTCs, mailings, and organize events or projects as assigned.
  • Supervise the Department Secretary and maintain filing and records.

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. Position Summary:

Responsible for front office tasks including but not limited to:
Customer service, phones, resolution of issues, maintain daily communication with villages, SIs, and the five CHAP departments. Manage travel arrangements in a timely manner daily, maintain and process per diems and deposits, data collection and entry, clinic patient backlog, Invoice processing and purchasing requests, maintain travel logs and float logs, assist with meeting minutes, setting up VTCs, mailings, and ensure copy equipment is maintained. organization of special events or projects as assigned, and produce special reports monthly as requested by Director, and other projects as assigned. Supervises the Department Secretary position.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Administration or Management preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of college preparation with an emphasis in Business/Office Management.

A degree may be substituted for an excellent candidate at least two years working in an office environment. Supervision experience preferred.policy development and implementation, and familiarity with health care regulations including JCAHO, CHAP, and HIPAA Standards. Experience working in rural, multi-cultural setting.

Standard office equipment and software (copier, fax, computer software including MS Word, Excel, Outlook e-mail and accessing the World-Wide Web). Able to learn other software required for specific job function.

Supervises maintenance of records and appropriate filing. Directly supervises Department Secretary.
