The Role

We are seeking a Channel Sales Manager for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. This role is responsible for driving revenue and profitability by managing distribution relationships at both executive and field levels. The manager will develop and support new business opportunities in hospital and physician office labs, partner with distribution sales teams, lead product launches, and support marketing and sales programs. The position involves relationship building, routine business reviews, training distribution staff, representing QuidelOrtho at events, and supporting regional sales goals. The role is field-based, supporting areas including New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Delaware, Vermont, New Jersey, Maryland, and Washington DC, requiring proximity for client meetings.

The Responsibilities

  1. Lead regional distribution strategies to grow sales and meet revenue goals.
  2. Support converting new, competitive accounts and retaining existing customers through distribution channels.
  3. Coordinate with sales leadership to support regional programs and initiatives.
  4. Represent QuidelOrtho at trade shows and events.
  5. Define opportunities and implement regional action plans for revenue growth and new business acquisition.
  6. Develop and lead training programs on new product launches and sales strategies.
  7. Demonstrate knowledge of new products, services, and industry trends to support regional sales efforts.
  8. Strategize with sales leadership on distribution and market focus, providing regular business reviews.
  9. Contribute to sales forecasts and manage the opportunity pipeline.
  10. Monitor budgets and report on performance against targets.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

The Individual

Candidates should be aware of customer credentialing requirements, including immunizations, and that the company is an equal opportunity employer providing accommodations as needed. Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of successful sales experience, preferably in the medical device/diagnostic market, with leadership in sales efforts.
  • 3+ years of diagnostics industry experience with distributor knowledge.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.
  • Ability to lead independently and develop leadership in others.
  • Understanding of internal departments and procedures, including finance, quality, and marketing.
  • Knowledge of reimbursement and capacity planning.
  • Proven ROI management and financial analysis skills.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and work under general supervision.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70%.

Preferred:

  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience selling capital equipment and/or marketing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.

Key Working Relationships

  • Customers: act as brand ambassador.
  • Distribution Partners: coordinate efforts to meet revenue and new business goals.
  • Field Sales: provide leadership and strategic guidance.
  • Internal teams (Sales Leadership, Specialty Sales, Admin, etc.): collaborate to maximize results.

The Work Environment

Primarily outside sales with a need for discipline, organization, and self-motivation. Must have good vision, mobility, and ability to travel, including in airports and at customer sites. Typical day involves meetings, computer work, and paperwork. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds required.

Salary Transparency

The salary range is $94,000 to $159,000, based on factors such as experience, skills, and location, and includes incentive compensation. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), paid time off, and more. Benefits are non-contractual and subject to change.
