The Role

We are seeking a Channel Sales Manager for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. This role drives revenue and profitability by leading distribution relationships at all levels. The manager develops and supports new business opportunities, leads product launches, marketing strategies, and sales programs with distribution partners. They facilitate relationship building, conduct business reviews, and train distribution staff on QuidelOrtho products. The position supports the Regional Sales Director in achieving regional goals and manages various distributor strategies and initiatives.

This is a field-based position supporting and located within New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Delaware, Vermont, New Jersey, Maryland, and Washington DC. Candidates must be able to attend in-person meetings on short notice, requiring reasonable proximity to clients.

The Responsibilities

  1. Lead regional distribution strategies to grow top-line sales and meet revenue goals.
  2. Leverage distribution to acquire new accounts and support retention of current customers.
  3. Coordinate with sales teams to support programs across regions and markets.
  4. Represent QuidelOrtho at industry events and trade shows.
  5. Define opportunities and implement regional action plans for revenue growth and new business acquisition.
  6. Develop and lead training programs on new product launches and sales strategies.
  7. Demonstrate knowledge of new products, services, and industry trends, supporting regional sales management.
  8. Strategize with sales leadership on distribution and market focus, providing regular business reviews.
  9. Contribute to sales forecasts and drive opportunity pipelines.
  10. Monitor budgets and report performance against plans quarterly.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

The Individual

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience, preferably in medical devices or diagnostics, with leadership without authority.
  • 3+ years of diagnostics industry experience with distributor knowledge.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate strategies into action plans.
  • Ability to lead independently and create followership to drive regional strategies.
  • Solid understanding of internal departments and internal relationships to achieve results.
  • Knowledge of reimbursement and capacity to implement strategies based on that knowledge.
  • Proven ability to manage ROI and analyze financial data.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to uphold company values and handle confidential information.
  • High ethics and professionalism in interactions.
  • Ability to work under supervision following established procedures.
  • This position is not currently eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Travel up to 70% required.

Preferred:

  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience selling capital equipment and/or 2+ years in marketing.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

Key Working Relationships include customers, distribution partners, sales teams, and internal departments such as finance, HR, IT, and customer service.

The Work Environment

Typical outside sales environment. Must have discipline, organization skills, and self-motivation to work autonomously from a home office. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Must be physically able to travel up to 70%, maintain a valid driver’s license, and own a suitable vehicle. Travel includes airplane, train, automobile, and overnight stays. On a typical workday, 80% of time is spent meeting with people, and 20% on computer, paperwork, or phone. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds is required.

Salary Transparency

The salary range is $94,000 to $159,000, based on factors like experience, education, and location. Compensation decisions depend on individual circumstances. The role is eligible for incentive compensation. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, 401(k), employee assistance, stock purchase plan, paid time off, and holidays. Benefits are non-contractual and subject to change.
