Change & Release Management Specialist
About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Change & Release Management Specialist to oversee and optimize our change and release processes, ensuring smooth deployment of software and hardware updates across development, testing, and production environments. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, process-driven thinking, and strong stakeholder collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities
Change Management
  • Oversee end-to-end change management, including evaluating, prioritizing, and approving change requests.
  • Ensure all changes comply with organizational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk and impact assessments to minimize business disruption.
  • Maintain Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes and facilitate meetings.
  • Track and report on post-implementation success and impact of changes.
Release Management
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate software and hardware releases across environments.
  • Develop and maintain release schedules aligned with project timelines and business priorities.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth deployments.
  • Manage release documentation, including release notes, deployment plans, and rollback strategies.
  • Ensure releases meet governance, security, and quality standards.
Process Improvement & Automation
  • Continuously improve change and release processes to enhance efficiency and reduce risks.
  • Implement ITIL best practices for change, release, and configuration management.
  • Drive automation of repetitive tasks in change and release workflows.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Serve as liaison between technical teams (developers, engineers, IT operations) and business units.
  • Partner with project managers to align change and release activities with project deliverables.
  • Provide training and guidance to teams on change and release management practices.
  • Identify risks associated with changes and releases, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Manage and resolve issues during the change or release process.
  • Maintain rollback plans for quick recovery in case of failed deployments.
Reporting & Metrics
  • Track KPIs for change and release success, including success rates, downtime, and schedule adherence.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on change and release activities, risks, and outcomes.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and databases.
