Job summary

The USGA is hiring five Championship Interns for the 2027 season. From February through October, interns carry real responsibility for the administration of our national championships - managing qualifying, serving the competitors and Allied Golf Associations, and working on site at championships alongside staff and volunteers who conduct them.

Travel is a substantial component: an estimated 45 to 50+ days across the season.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a Bachelor's degree.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer the qualifying process, championship entries, exemptions and customer service in partnership with the Championship Administration team.
• Serve as a point of contact for players, parents and agents and for key stakeholders including Allied Golf Associations.
• Contribute to the weekly World Amateur Golf Rankings and prepare, organize, inventory and ship championship equipment.
• Support on-site championship operations at multiple championships, including equipment management and player services.
