Job summary

The Madison Chamber of Commerce is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Membership Sales Representative to grow chamber membership through business development, networking and relationship building within the Madison community.

This part-time role focuses on recruiting new members and supporting retention, with compensation based on base salary up to 30 hours per week plus commission based on sales performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or business development preferred.
• Proven ability to build relationships and close sales.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to travel throughout the Madison area for member visits and events.

Responsibilities

• Prospect, identify, and recruit new chamber members throughout the Madison business community.
• Develop and maintain a consistent sales pipeline of prospective members.
• Conduct in-person visits, phone calls, emails and networking outreach to generate membership sales.
• Present the benefits and value of chamber membership to prospective businesses and organizations.
• Follow up with leads and maintain ongoing communication with prospects throughout the sales process.
• Assist with membership retention efforts by maintaining positive relationships with current members.
• Accurately document sales activities, member interactions and prospect information in chamber databases and reporting systems.
• Attend events, networking functions, ribbon cuttings and community activities to generate leads and promote membership opportunities.
• Provide member feedback and market insights to chamber leadership.
• Meet or exceed established membership recruitment goals.
• Maintain a professional and positive image while representing the Madison Chamber of Commerce.
• Perform other membership-related business development activities as assigned.
