Job summary

The West Orange Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Member Relations Sales Manager to drive growth through new membership sales, retention, and engagement initiatives. You will lead the Membership Department, develop recruitment strategies, and build executive relationships with business leaders while coordinating sponsorships and non-dues revenue opportunities.

You’ll collaborate with the President & CEO, manage onboarding, track performance, and represent the Chamber at events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in business development, sales, or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in membership, sales, business development, fundraising, or account management, with a proven record of achieving revenue goals.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with business owners, CEOs, senior executives, elected officials, and community leaders.
• Strong leadership, consultative sales, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Experience using CRM or membership management software to manage sales activities, reporting, and member engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Membership Department by overseeing sales, retention, engagement, and revenue initiatives.
• Advance the Chamber's Strategic Plan with emphasis on membership growth and retention.
• Generate New Membership Sales through daily prospecting and events.
• Develop Executive-Level Business Relationships with CEOs and decision-makers.
• Conduct Executive Membership Sales Presentations to close memberships.
• Develop Referral Opportunities to expand the prospect network.
• Oversee Member Onboarding to ensure a professional welcome experience.
• Lead Membership Retention and Growth efforts and manage key accounts.
• Drive Non-Dues Revenue via sponsorships, advertising, and program participation.
• Represent the Chamber at events and meetings as a senior ambassador.
