Job summary

RTX invites students to explore aerospace with hands-on experience in platform systems engineering. You will learn requirements capture from initial concepts through verification and be part of a cross-functional, Agile team working on cockpit avionics for advanced programs.

You will gain exposure to DOORS, JAMA, JIRA, and ALM tools while supporting test development and execution in lab environments. This paid internship/co-op fosters practical skills and industry readiness.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Enrollment through the internship/co-op period is required.

Responsibilities

• Learn requirements capture and peer review for AMS cockpit avionics for CH-53K program.
• Participate in decomposing and allocating requirements to appropriate domains within Collins Aerospace.
• Support the creation of test procedures to verify requirements.
• Participate in on-site execution of requirements-based testing, robustness and Ad-Hoc testing in a lab environment.
• Collaborate within an Agile-based development team of professional engineers.

What You Will Do:

• Learn requirements capture and peer review for AMS cockpit avionics for CH-53K program

What You Will Learn:

• The full experience of platform systems engineering activities from initial requirements capture all the way to supporting fielded products
• Effective use of systems engineering tools such as DOORs, JIRA, JAMA, and the ALM tools suite

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
• Basic experience with DOORS, JAMA, JIRA, and ALM tool suite
• Basic experience working within an aerospace related engineering development environment
• Basic experience or knowledge of engineering/technology requirements capture and configuration management tools
• Basic experience or an educational background covering requirements capture & definition, integration, verification & validation testing

Relocation Eligibility

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD.
