Job summary

Flying Horse Capital seeks an experienced CFO to lead the finance function for an acquired business; relocation to the site is required. You will be the strategic partner to the CEO, building the finance function from the ground up and driving disciplined financial management for decades of ownership.

This executive role requires 10+ years in finance leadership, ownership mindset, and the ability to deploy scalable systems and processes while collaborating with founders and leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership, including time as CFO, VP of Finance, or Controller with full-function ownership.
• Senior-most finance leader in a business not a division with corporate support behind you.
• Experience in non-professionalized environments with tribal knowledge and manual processes.
• Proven ability to build monthly close, forecasting, and reporting packages from scratch.
• Strong operational orientation, spending time on the floor, with customers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the financial function end-to-end: accounting, reporting, forecasting, cash, treasury, and controls.
• Build a timely, accurate monthly close and reporting package leaders can act on.
• Establish cash discipline: working capital, collections, terms, and liquidity.
• Develop KPI framework linking financial results to operational drivers understood by the team.
• Replace hand-built spreadsheets with scalable systems and processes.
• Serve as CEO's partner on pricing, capital allocation, hiring, and growth decisions.
• Develop and lead the finance team; hire where gaps exist.
• Manage banking, insurance, tax, and audit relationships.
• Support add-on acquisitions and integration as the business grows.
• This is a long-term role with enduring ownership of the finance function.
