Job summary

Flying Horse Capital seeks a transformative Chief Financial Officer to rebuild and lead the finance function for a permanent capital firm. The role reports to the CEO and ownership, with a mandate to turn a stable family business into a scalable platform and growth engine.

You will own the close process, accounting policies, internal controls, tax strategy, and IT/HR collaboration, while guiding capital allocation and multi-entity expansion to drive enduring value.

Qualifications

• 15 years of progressive finance and accounting leadership (CFO/VP Finance) experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification preferred; ability to partner with CEO and owner.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close, financial statements, and their accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee audit/tax strategy and outside advisor relationships.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning with KPI reporting for growth.
• Manage IT, systems, and ERP implementation to support scaling and multi-entity operations.
• Partner with CEO on organizational design, talent strategy, and culture.
• Evaluate cap allocation, acquisitions, and capital structure for growth.
