Job description

Location: Relocation required to the acquired business

Employment type: Full-time

Seniority: Executive

ABOUT THE ROLE

Flying Horse Capital acquires businesses and places experienced leaders at the helm to run them. We believe the right CEO is the most important factor in a successful ownership transition.

This isn't a search fund or a typical private equity executive position. It's real ownership. You're truly the captain of the ship.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

We are selective about who we partner with. Every leader in our program brings deep operational experience, a proven track record, and a personal investment in the outcome. Our approach is built on the conviction that great businesses deserve great operators, and that long-term ownership creates the environment for both to thrive. CEOs of our portfolio companies receive significant ownership and autonomy in the company they're leading.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Once a business is identified and acquired, the CEO steps in from day one. You relocate to where the business operates and take ownership of leading it forward. The outgoing owner transitions out on agreed terms, ensuring continuity.

  • Take full operational and P&L ownership of the acquired business
  • Meet with each employee in the first weeks to build trust and understand operations from the inside out
  • Establish continuity, alignment, and a clear path forward without disrupting what already works
  • Retain key employees and protect the customer relationships that made the business worth buying
  • Build the management team and drive long‑term growth
  • This is a long‑term role. Our CEOs are committed to building enduring businesses.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 10+ years of leadership experience across operations, sales, or marketing
  • Meaningful P&L ownership — a business, division, region, or branch network
  • Experience leading in businesses that are not fully professionalized: inconsistent reporting, tribal knowledge, systems built by hand
  • Financial fluency — comfortable with a P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
  • Ability and willingness to invest personal capital alongside Flying Horse Capital
  • Willingness to relocate to the acquired business, wherever it is located

SELECTION PROCESS

Every candidate goes through a rigorous vetting process, including behavioral assessments, background and credit checks, and a requirement to invest personal capital alongside Flying Horse Capital.
