Job summary

Burnett Staffing Specialists seeks a hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a well-established general contractor in the Houston area. The role requires driving financial strategy while actively managing day-to-day financial operations and supporting long-term growth.

The CFO will partner with executives, manage budgeting, reporting, and controls, and oversee HR, IT, and risk management in a collaborative, employee-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and Accounting degree required, and/or CPA is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the financial reporting for the construction industry.
• Strong construction industry experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP, percentage of completion accounting method, and relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the financial strategy of the company.
• Monitor financial performance and analyze results to drive corrective action.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes and reporting packages.
• Oversee purchasing, accounting, HR, IT, and risk management.
• Provide budget-to-actual analyses and multi-year cash forecasts.
