Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is seeking a hands-on Chief Financial Officer / VP of Finance for a growing residential construction company in Atlanta. The role leads all financial operations, strategic planning, and reporting while partnering with ownership on strategy and growth.

The ideal candidate will balance high-level oversight with hands-on execution, manage a small accounting team, and drive profitability through cash flow management, project costing, and robust financial controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; professional credentials preferred.
• Significant finance leadership experience in residential construction/homebuilding.
• Experience with construction accounting, job costing, WIP schedules, and project-based financial management.
• Proven ability to lead small teams and partner with owners on strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead all financial operations including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow.
• Develop financial strategies to support growth and profitability objectives.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial packages for ownership; manage banking relationships.
• Oversee job costing, project profitability and WIP reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory obligations; establish internal controls.
• Mentor accounting staff and collaborate with leadership on strategic decisions.
