Job summary

A private equity backed energy storage manufacturer in the Greater Phoenix Area is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to build the finance function from the ground up and scale with the business.

You will own financial strategy, capital structure, and reporting, while leading FP&A, accounting, treasury and tax. The role demands a hands-on operator who can raise capital, manage lenders, and partner with leadership on strategic contracts and international expansion.

Qualifications

• 15–20+ years of progressive finance leadership, including CFO experience or head of global division.
• Proven track record of raising capital and managing lender/investor relationships.
• Background in energy, manufacturing, or industrial sectors with capital intensity.
• Cross-border M&A experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set financial strategy and manage capital structure during growth and investments.
• Build financial infrastructure, controls, and reporting for scale.
• Lead capital raising and financing strategy with the board.
• Build and scale FP&A, accounting, treasury, and tax functions.
• Own financial model, budgeting, and long-range planning from ground up.
• Present to board, investors, lenders, and key stakeholders.
• Partner with commercial leadership on contracts and deals.
• Oversee treasury, tax, insurance, and enterprise risk.
• Oversee finances for operations outside the US.
• Mentor a lean finance team.
