Responsibilities

• Assist the Manager (ES) in social support programmes and CES Team operations.
• Coordinate with Estate Offices and Occupational therapists for facility improvements and home modification.
• Liaise with external partners including NGOs, health providers, hospitals, and government departments.
• Provide professional counseling and case management for needy tenants with referrals to social services.
• Promote neighborhood support by developing mutual networks and mobilising volunteers.
• Manage the operation of CES cum Elderly Lounge including home visits and calls.
• Coordinate district-based projects, events, IT system work, media interviews and renovations.
• Supervise and coach subordinates to ensure service quality.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

CES - Community Services Manager / Social Worker

The Housing Society has been serving the role as the “housing laboratory” of Hong Kong. In response to the challenges associated with the ageing population, we have pioneered a number of innovative and forward-looking elderly housing projects and services over the years, including setting up multi-disciplinary social support teams in our own estates; and integrating housing, recreation and healthcare services under one roof in various housing projects under the Senior Citizen Residences Scheme. The Job

• To assist the Manager (ES) in the execution of social support programmes and review the overall operation and administration of the CES Team at respective estate according to the approved business plans and milestones.


• To coordinate with Estate Offices and Occupational therapists for on-going facility improvement and home modification at respective estate.


• To liaise and partner with external parties in the collaborative projects/services at respective estate(s), including but not limited to district social service operators, social enterprises, health service providers, hospitals, educational institutes and governmental departments.


• To provide professional counseling and case management for needy tenants, expertise timely referrals to social services and closely liaise with NGOs for subsequent follow-up action to prevent crisis.


• To promote neighborhood support through establishing and developing mutual support networks among tenants and mobilise the volunteer teams in rendering community-building activities at respective estate.


• To manage the operation of responsible CES cum Elderly Lounge in attaining the designated service outputs and outcomes, and conduct regular home visits and/or telephone concern calls to the needy tenants.


• To coordinate the working groups of district-based collaborative projects and signature events, including but not limited to the service award ceremonies, festive and thematic carnivals, IT system building and configuration, media interviews and renovation projects.


• To supervise and coach the subordinates to assure the quality of services, and manage the team in effective and efficient manner.


• To undertake any other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor deems appropriate.

The Person

• Minimum 5 years’ post qualification working experience in recognized welfare organization of elderly service; community services preferable.


• With administrative and supervisory experience.


• Previous in-charge-of community health program, elderly care projects preferable.


• Good connection with NGOs, social enterprises and other stakeholders in social services.


• Self-starter with ability to excel in a changing community environment.


• Strong team player, mature and able to conduct evidence-based study.


• Motivated with strategic mindset in service development.


• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.


• Good command of English, Putonghua and Cantonese.
