Job summary

Intertek's Professional Services Industries (Intertek-PSI) in Plymouth, MI is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our team. The role focuses on welding inspection, quality assurance, and compliance with D1.1 standards on construction projects in the A/E/C sector.

The ideal candidate has a CWI certification, at least four years of welding inspection experience, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Must have AWS CWI Certification with D1.1 experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant welding inspection experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety and environment guidelines, policies, and regulations.
• Test and inspect structural steel during erection on general building sites and pipelines.
• Inspect general construction and structural steel erection for buildings.
• Perform visual inspections on welded products in progress and completed jobs.
• Inspect welding jobs for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut etc.
• Document data from quality assurance activities and report findings.
