Job summary

Southern Erectors, Inc. in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector to perform in-process and final inspections of fabrication projects. You will coordinate inspections with production leaders and ensure QA/QC alignment.

Required: AWS CWI with at least 3 years' fabrication shop experience, current Level 2 UT certification, knowledge of ASME/API codes, proficiency in D1.1, D1.2, D1.6, strong blueprint reading, and MS Office skills. Travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• AWS CWI certification with at least 3 years of Certified Welding Inspector experience in a fabrication shop.
• Current Level 2 UT certification.
• Knowledge of ASME and API codes and standards.
• Proficiency with AWS D1.1, D1.2 and D1.6 for welding steel, aluminum and stainless.
• Strong blueprint reading, communication, and MS Office skills.
• Experience with AutoCad and C-Spec is desirable.
• Able to use both metric and standard measurement systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Client QA/QC/NDE requirements are met.
• Coordinate / Schedule third party inspections as required.
• Oversee Welder Certification program and maintain continuity logs.
• Communicate with fabrication personnel regularly and resolve quality issues.
• Identify and solve quality non-conformances in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Maintain PQR and WPS records.
• Maintain inspection history and trending metrics.
• Determine inspection equipment needs.
• Maintain record of non-conforming material.
• Assist in implementation of Quality Control Program.
