Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) in York, PA to join our Professional Services Industries (Intertek-PSI) team. You will apply welding process knowledge, test methods, and inspection practices on construction projects to ensure welding quality meets all applicable standards.

This role requires reading blueprints, performing visual inspections, recording test results, and communicating issues with the project team.

Qualifications

AWS CWI certification with D1.1 experience.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant inspection experience.
Ability to read blueprints and interpret tolerances.
Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
Valid Driver’s License with reliable driving record.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with safety and environment guidelines, policies, and regulations.
Testing and inspection of structural steel during erection on general building and pipeline sites, as well as occasional plant inspections.
Inspect general construction and structural steel erection for buildings.
Perform visual inspections on welded products in progress and completed jobs.
Inspect welding jobs for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, etc.
Record results of tests and welding inspections.
Issue and follow up on non-conformances until close out.
Plan and conduct analysis, inspection, test, and/or integration to assure quality of products.
Review welded products or components and provide input on acceptance or rejection.
Document data from QA activities per company procedures.
