Job summary

CTL Engineering in Columbus, OH is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our Construction Quality Assurance team. The role involves field inspection on building sites and bridges, welding procedure qualification testing, and coordinating with project teams to ensure compliance with contract drawings and codes.

Requirements include a minimum of 3 years steel inspection experience with a technical degree or 5 years without, AWS CWI or ability to obtain within a year, and willingness

Qualifications

• Minimum three years in steel inspection with degree, or five years without a degree.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Preferred ICC certification in Structural Steel Welding or Bolting; ASNT Level II UT/MT/PT.
• Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specs; produce inspection reports.
• Must be physically capable of accessing construction sites and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driving record and willingness to travel within Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on building sites, bridges and fabrication shops.
• Conduct steel testing and welder performance/procedure qualification testing.
• Work on site including elevated platforms and scaffolds; occasional field and office work.
