Job summary

Terracon Columbus, OH office is seeking Certified Welding Inspectors to join their Construction Materials Testing team. The role involves daily inspection of construction projects, verifying conformance to drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities include reporting, documentation, and collaboration with Project Managers. Candidates should possess NICET Level II, AWS CWI, ASNT Level II or equivalent certifications, with 2–4 years of inspection experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree preferred.
• 2–4 years’ experience as Engineering Technician or related field.
• 1 year experience in construction inspection preferred.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and the specified procedures.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
• Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
• Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the Project Manager.
• Draft inspection reports for review by senior inspector and/or Project Managers.
• May assist more senior inspectors on projects.
• Maintains equipment and calibration.
• Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.
