Job summary

ECS Limited is hiring a Certified Welding Inspector (Specialty Technician) to join our Richmond team for field observations, inspections, and testing across various construction materials including structural steel. You will collaborate with senior staff and project managers, with opportunities to engage in NDT activities and on-site testing.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Willing to obtain 2 relevant specialty certifications from industry authorities (NDT).
• Must lift 40-70 lbs multiple times a day; occasionally 85 lbs to waist height.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Proficiency with electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering/construction plans.
• Basic knowledge of MS Office.
• If your focus is NDE testing, calibrate NDE equipment.
• US Military ranks E-4/E-5 qualify if requirements met.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Perform observations, testing, inspections, and sampling of construction materials.
• Testing Procedures: Inspect structural steel and reinforcing steel, welded or bolted connections.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction; draft admin tasks and manage field equipment.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors and project managers; attend meetings as requested.
• Training and Development: Receive ECS methodology training and document findings precisely.
