Job summary

Broadway Veterinary Hospital in Rochester, MN is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our team. You will support veterinarians with anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and client education while ensuring compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• State license to work as a certified veterinary technician.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; lift beyond 25 with assistance
• Practice OSHA safety techniques including PPE
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS Office
• Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in veterinary medicine and surgery.
• Assist in outpatient exams with histories, vital signs, weights, and client education.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during surgery.
• Obtain blood, stool, and other samples; perform in-hospital lab testing.
• Take, develop, and maintain radiographs following safety procedures.
• Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Clean and restock exam rooms and labs; maintain equipment.
• Demonstrate warmth, courtesy and professionalism with clients and patients.
• Communicate with veterinarians and team about client discussions and patient plans.
• Any other duties as assigned.
