Qualifications

• State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician.
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; assist for heavier lifts.
• Competent with basic computer skills and MS Office.
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medicine, surgery and related tasks.
• Take histories, vital signs, and weights; provide client education.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor during procedures.
• Collect samples and run in-hospital labs; prepare specimens for outside labs.
• Take and develop radiographs following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Maintain clean, stocked and organized exam and treatment areas.
• Demonstrate warmth, courtesy and professionalism with clients and patients.
• Communicate with veterinarians and team members about patient plans and concerns.
• All other duties as assigned.
