Job summary

Yorktown Central School District is seeking aCertified Teaching Assistant to support instructional activities under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role includes assisting in classrooms, helping develop learning and behavioral experiences, and supporting teachers with materials.

Candidates must hold NYSED Level I TA certification (Level III within 4 years) and complete state workshops such as Child Abuse Detection & Reporting, School Violence Prevention, and DASA.

Qualifications

• NYSED Level I TA certification required (must obtain Level III within 4 years).
• Must complete required state workshops: Child Abuse Detection & Reporting, School Violence Prevention, DASA.

Responsibilities

• Support individual students or small groups on instructional projects.
• Provide information about students to assist lesson planning.
• Assist in using instructional resources and helping develop materials.
• Utilize skills in areas such as foreign languages, arts, crafts, and music.
• Assist in related instructional work as required.
• Assist students with health-related activities as appropriate.
• Maintain instructional materials and records for mandated requirements.
