Job summary

Yorktown Central School District is seeking a Certified Teaching Assistant (CTA) for Crompond School to provide instructional support under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role involves working with students individually or in small groups, assisting with instructional resources, and maintaining records.

The position requires NYSED Level I Teaching Assistant certification (Level III within 4 years) and completion of mandated state workshops.

Qualifications

• NYSED Certification as a Level I Teaching Assistant (must obtain Level III within 4 years, subject to requirements).
• Completion of required state workshops (Child Abuse Detection & Reporting, School Violence Prevention, DASA).

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or groups on instructional projects.
• Provide teacher with information to develop learning and behavioral experiences.
• Assist students with instructional resources and materials.
• Support in areas such as foreign languages, arts, crafts, music.
• Aid in related instructional duties as assigned.
• Assist with health-related activities as appropriate.
• Maintain instructional materials and records for mandated requirements.
• Perform general clerical tasks to help prepare instructional materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
