Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist credential is required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Minimum of six months’ experience in an acute care Surgery Department.
• ORT externship completed on-site within the last year may substitute experience.
• Recent OR Tech Program graduate may be considered if certified.
• Military surgical tech experience (10+ years) may be considered in lieu of ORT certification/NCCT.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile field for surgical procedures.
• Set up sterile operating room and organize instruments according to surgeon preference cards.
• Assist the surgeon, registered nurse, and anesthesiologist during procedures.
• Manage sterile supply flow and perform accurate surgical counts.
• Adhere to aseptic technique and safety protocols from pre-op to post-op.
