Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the circulating nurse with patient positioning and prep of the operative site.
• Establish and maintain an organized sterile field.
• Provide scrub assistance during procedures with knowledge of anatomy and instruments.
• Apply asepsis principles and verify sterile technique; report breaks in asepsis.
• Prepare the operating room with sterile supplies, instruments, and sutures.
• Follow scrubbing, gowning, gloving, back table setup, draping and counting procedures.
