Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. You will assist the circulating nurse with patient positioning, site preparation, and handling operative specimens, ensuring a sterile field and timely room turnover.

The role requires scrub proficiency, correct aseptic technique, and collaboration with surgeons and nurses. Daily duties include preparing supplies, gowning and gloving, instrument handling, and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the circulating nurse with patient positioning and sterile field setup.
• Prepare the operating room with sterile supplies, instruments, and sutures.
• Provide scrub assistance reflecting anatomy knowledge and required supplies.
• Scrub, gown, and glove according to aseptic technique.
• Count and drape setup; verify sterility throughout procedures.
