Job summary

Mercy Health in Michigan is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for Lourdes Hospital to support the surgical team during procedures. The role emphasizes aseptic technique, preparation of sterile instruments, and adaptability to special equipment needs.

Minimum education includes an Associate's degree in surgical technology with BLS preferred and CST/NBSTA/TS-C/NCCT certifications as applicable. 1 year perioperative experience is suggested but not required.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology (required)
• BLS certification preferred
• CST/NBSTA/TS-C or NCCT certification required (depending on eligibility)

Responsibilities

• Provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure and maintains aseptic technique.
• Prepares, maintains, and organizes sterile supplies and instrument for the procedure.
• Provides complete case preparation with the ability to adapt of special instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Assists with pre and post procedure cleaning of the operative room and instruments.
• Prepares and performs surgical skin prep and clipping as indicated by procedure.
