Job summary

The Surgical Technician - Certified at Community Health Systems in Fort Wayne, IN collaborates with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient patient care in the OR. You will prepare the sterile field, anticipate needs, pass instruments, and support infection control and room readiness.

Qualifications include CST and BLS, 0–2 years OR experience, and completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or related degree. This is a full-time role with weekend shifts and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Technical School or associate degree in Surgical Technology required.
• 0–2 years of operating room surgical technician experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare OR by setting up instruments, equipment, supplies per procedure.
• Maintain a sterile field and adhere to aseptic technique.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently during procedures.
• Handle instruments per policy, including cleaning and sterilization.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and transfer under RN direction.
• Restock supplies and maintain room readiness for next cases.
• Maintain attendance and comply with policies.
