Qualifications

• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up.
• Experience in acute care surgical settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support in the perioperative period under RN supervision.
• Prepare equipment, instruments, supplies, and patient for surgery.
• Assist with inventory of sterile supplies.

Skills

Knowledge of sterile technique

Education

Completion of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent training

High school diploma or equivalent

Tools

Surgical tech certification from NBSTSA or NCCT

Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
