Qualifications

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or military/hospital-based training with 5 years acute care experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT is required.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with American Heart Association or Red Cross is needed.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical support in the perioperative period under RN supervision.
• Prepare equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinate the preparation or disposal of specimens.
• Assist with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.
