Qualifications
Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or military/hospital-based training with 5 years acute care experience.
Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT is required.
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with American Heart Association or Red Cross is needed.
High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary.
Responsibilities
Perform technical support in the perioperative period under RN supervision.
Prepare equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
Coordinate the preparation or disposal of specimens.
Assist with inventory of sterile supplies.
May assist in patient transport.
