Job summary

BayCare seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for Winter Haven, FL. This part-time clinical role supports the perioperative team during the evening/nigh shift.

The position requires certification, completion of an accredited program or equivalent experience, and BLS. Responsibilities include sterile technique, instrument setup, and assisting in specimens and patient transport as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or equivalent military/hospital training with 5 years acute care experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation and sterile field setup.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinate preparation or disposal of specimens and related tasks.
• Assist with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.
• Perform perioperative technical support under the direction and supervision of a RN.
