Job summary

The Lutheran Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. This full-time day shift position requires on-call duties, ensuring instrument readiness, sterile technique, and support for the surgical team to deliver safe, efficient patient care.

You will prepare and maintain sterile fields, pass instruments, assist with counts, and help manage room turnover while adhering to infection control standards. CST certification and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• CST certification required.
• Associate degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required.
• 0-2 years OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room with instruments, equipment, and supplies based on procedure.
• Maintains a sterile field and follows aseptic techniques.
• Passes instruments to the surgeon and assists with counts for patient safety.
• Handles instruments per policy including sterilization and storage.
• Restocks supplies and prepares rooms for subsequent cases to ensure OR efficiency.
• Supports patient positioning, draping, and transfer under RN direction.
• Complies with policies and maintains regular attendance.
