Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Surgical Technologist for local and national travel assignments across multiple Ascension acute care hospitals. The role involves scrubbing high-acuity cases such as open-heart and vascular procedures, with 40 hours per week and a gross weekly rate up to $2,739.

Required NBSTSA credential and BLS within 30 days of hire; HS diploma or equivalent with related experience acceptable; diverse shifts available to support patient care needs.

Responsibilities

• Scrub for high-acuity cases including open-heart, vascular, thoracic, and emergency aortic dissections.
• Manage delicate CV tools, pledgeted sutures, and vascular grafts in a fast-paced environment.
• Anticipate critical needs during cardiopulmonary bypass cannulation and time-sensitive hemodynamic maneuvers.
• Operate specialized equipment such as cell savers, valvulotomes, and intraoperative ultrasound probes.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Expertly scrub for high-acuity cases, including open-heart, vascular, thoracic, and emergency aortic dissections.
• Meticulously manage delicate CV tools, pledgeted sutures, and vascular grafts in a fast-paced environment.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education And Work Experience

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

• 1+ year of acute care experience.
• Applicable license and/or certification per contract requirements required.
