Position: Certified Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a motivated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team in a fast-paced ambulatory surgical center environment committed to high-quality patient care.

Job Summary

• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
• Establish and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure sterility of supplies and instruments during setup.
• Assist the circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment.
• Gather surgical supplies and equipment, and perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Gown and glove surgeons and assistants.
• Maintain accurate and updated physician preference cards.
• Handle specimens correctly, confirming source with the surgeon.
• Transport and assist in cleaning and reprocessing instruments.
• Interact effectively with patients and staff, respecting diversity.
• Follow universal precautions and safety guidelines.
• Participate in infection control, emergency drills, and safety practices.
• Use and care for equipment properly.
• Serve as a resource to the healthcare team.
• Attend required trainings and meetings.
• Communicate courteously with all stakeholders, maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintain required certifications such as CPR.
• Align with the center's mission and policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of surgical technician training or at least two years of experience.
• Experience in ambulatory surgical centers preferred.
• Experience with Ear/Nose/Throat procedures required.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to adapt quickly to patient needs.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.
