Job summary

Phoenixville Hospital, part of Tower Health, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist the operative team and ensure sterile technique. The position offers FT shifts with 8- and 12-hour days and on-call/holiday rotation.

Required: BLS, CST within 6 months for new grads, and a minimum of 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience. Must live within 30 minutes of Phoenixville Hospital in PA.

Qualifications

• 2 year/Associate Degree – OR combination of relevant education & experience may be considered in lieu of Associate Degree.
• BLS Certification required; CST certification within 6 months of graduation for new grads.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgical team during operative procedures.
• Arranges sterile setup for operations and hands items as needed to the operative team.
• Assists in preparing and moving patients and in cleaning the operating rooms.
• Provides surgical care to meet identified patient outcomes as directed by the RN.

• The Surgical Technician is responsible for the provision of surgical care to meet identified patient outcomes, and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Registered Nurse.

Education Requirements

• Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role.
• 2 year/Associate Degree - OR - combination of relevant education & experience may be considered in lieu of Associate Degree

Certification and Licensure

• BLS Certification
• Certified Surgical Tech (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT (New grads must obtain within 6 months of graduation) or has been employed to practice surgical technology according to House Bill 81

• Minimum 1-year Surgical Technologist Experience
