Job summary

Phoenixville Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operative team in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role includes preparing sterile set-ups, handing instruments to surgeons, assisting with patient movement, and maintaining OR cleanliness under RN supervision.

Requirements include 1 year of surgical tech experience, CST certification, and BLS. Full-time shifts include 8-hour and 12-hour options with on-call and holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings required for role.
• 2 year/Associate Degree or combination of relevant education & experience may be considered in lieu of Associate Degree.
• BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgical team during operative procedures.
• Arranges and inventories sterile set-up for operations, and hands items to the operative team.
• Assists in preparing and moving patients, and in cleaning the operating rooms.
• Provides surgical care under the direction of the Registered Nurse to meet patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

Certification and Licensure

• BLS Certification
• Certified Surgical Tech (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT (New grads must obtain within 6 months of graduation) or has been employed to practice surgical technology according to House Bill 81

Experience

• Minimum 1-year Surgical Technologist Experience
