Job summary

Tower Health's Phoenixville Hospital in Phoenixville, PA is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room and patient care team. The role involves assisting in procedures, preparing sterile setups, moving and preparing patients, and routine unit duties under RN supervision.

Shifts are limited (2 per week) with weekend/holiday rotation. Requirements include BLS and CST certification with NBSTSA or NCCT, plus an Associate degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• 2 year/Associate Degree in OR or related field.
• Completes and maintains required competencies and trainings for role.
• BLS Certification required.
• Certified Surgical Tech (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT; new grads must obtain within 6 months of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgical team during operative procedures.
• Arranges and inventories sterile setup for operations, and hands items as needed to the operative team.
• Assists in preparing and moving patients, and in cleaning the operating rooms.
• Provides surgical care to meet patient outcomes as directed by the RN.
• May assist on the unit with phlebotomy, VS, newborn care, and general patient care duties.

Job Summary

Work Schedule: (2) Shifts a week 7A-730P; weekend and holiday rotation

• Assists surgical team during operative procedures.
• Arranges and inventories sterile set-up for operations, and hands items as needed to the operative team.
• Assists in preparing and moving patients, and in cleaning the operating rooms.
• The Surgical Technician is responsible for the provision of surgical care to meet identified patient outcomes, and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Registered Nurse.
• Will also assume duties on the unit to include but not limited to phlebotomy, vs, assisting with newborn care, and general patient care assistant duties.

• 2 year/Associate Degree - OR - combination of relevant education & experience may be considered in lieu of Associate Degree
