Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka, IN is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team during day shifts. The role includes sterile setup, instrument passing, and adherence to counts, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus, daily pay options, and a comprehensive benefits package including tuition reimbursement and retirement matching. Prior OR tech experience preferred but not required for entry-level exceptional candidates.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited surgical tech training program.
• NBSTA certification must be obtained within 1 year of program completion.
• High School Diploma required.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• 2 years of surgical tech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain sterile fields for surgery.
• Pass instruments, anticipate surgeon needs, and handle specimens.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Clean OR post-procedure and prepare tools for sterilization.

Position Summary:

As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a key role in the operating room, supporting surgeons and nurses in delivering exceptional care. You'll prepare sterile instruments, maintain a safe environment, and ensure everything is ready for successful procedures.
