Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka, IN, is seeking a Full-time Surgical Technologist to join our day shift in the Operating Room. You will support surgeons and nurses by preparing sterile instruments, maintaining a safe environment, and ensuring readiness for procedures.

Required qualifications include completion of an accredited surgical tech training program, NBSTA certification within 12 months of program completion, a high school diploma, and CPR certification (or ability to obtain

• Completion of accredited surgical tech training program.
• NBSTA Certification must be obtained within 1 year of completion of program.
• High School Diploma required.
• CPR certification or able to obtain within 60 days.
• 2 years of surgical tech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain sterile fields for surgery
• Pass instruments, anticipate surgeon needs, and handle specimens
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts
• Clean OR post-procedure and prepare tools for sterilization
