Job summary

Ascension Health in Fishers, IN is seeking a Surgical Tech for the operating room. The role is Day Shift Full-time with three 12-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, and some weekend, weekday and holiday call shifts.

You will prepare the surgical suite, hand instruments to the surgeon during procedures, assist with patient positioning and draping, and maintain instrument counts throughout cases. A valid BLS and NBSTSA/NCCT credentials are required.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date or transfer date required.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from NCCT obtained prior to hire date.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from NBSTSA obtained prior to hire date.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable experience.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.

• Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.

• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.

• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors/tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• One or more of the following required:

• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
