Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in North Carolina is seeking a Surgical Technologist to facilitate safe and efficient surgical procedures. The position offers a $10,000 incentive bonus for new CST employees, flexible scheduling, and opportunities to work across multiple specialty areas.

The hospital is a 355-bed acute care facility with diverse inpatient and outpatient services. Minimum education is a high school diploma; BLS certification and NBSTSA Surgical Technology certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certification for Surgical Technology with NBSTSA.
• Competent in at least 3 specialty areas.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate add-on/urgent/emergent cases with charge RN, anesthesia, and surgeons; verify staff, room, equipment, and instrument availability.
• Document delays and reasons; elevate barriers (e.g., missing instruments, equipment down, patient not ready, transport delays).
• Prepare surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies; ensure good working order of equipment and instruments.
• Perform the role of the scrub technician.
• Use aseptic technique to establish and maintain a sterile field.
• Facilitate efficient completion of the surgery schedule.
• Maintain organized work area and participate in daily unit duties.
• Competent in at least 3 specialty areas.
