Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD seeks an experienced Certified Surgical Tech for the Operating Room. You will assist the surgical team, pass instruments, prepare the OR with supplies, and sterilize instruments to support safe, efficient procedures.

The role is part-time, 24 hours per week, with night shift and weekend rotation. Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program, CST certified, and BLS certified.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program and certified.
• 1 year hospital Operating Room experience preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Surgical Team in providing safe, appropriate patient care.
• Help surgeons during surgery by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
• Prepare the Operating Room with necessary supplies.
• Sterilize required instruments and supplies.
• Serve as surgical assistant as needed.
• Assist in ordering and restocking Operating Room supplies and instruments.

Education

High school or GED

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program and certified

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
