Job summary

fhsmc is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to support the operating room team in maintaining a sterile environment, preparing the suite, and assisting surgeons with precision. The role requires CST certification, BLS, and at least one year of OR experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred.
• Licenses/Certification: CST Certificate and current BLS
• Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in an operating room setting in a hospital or ASC.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operative suite for surgery by checking and gathering supplies, equipment and instruments.
• Ensure availability of adequate supplies, equipment and instruments for scheduled cases and assist in opening cases in a sterile manner.
• Assist in patient positioning, skin preparation and surgical draping according to surgeon’s protocol.
• Assist the surgeon during a surgical procedure with a high degree of efficiency and anticipate needs.
• Assist with the application of dressing splints and casts as directed.
• Maintain sterile technique and report any breaks to the attending surgeon and RN circulator.
